Native Vine Tasting Room opened in 2003 as a place where people can come taste and learn about wines, as well as purchase wines from around the world. The daily tastings showcase award-winning local wines under the Native Vine label and from other wineries around North Carolina.

The retail area carries awide selection of small production wines and microbrew beers, as well as hand-made cheeses from around the world. Unique wine and Outer Banks-related gift items can also be found, including such things as hand-painted, lighthouse wine bottlesthat are only available at Native Vine.

There are two locations, one in Point Harbor, just over the Wright Memorial Bridge in Currituck and one across from Jockey's Ridge State Park next to Kitty Hawk Sports in Nags Head (Mile Post 12.5).

The Point Harbor location features evening reserve tastings of wines from around the world on Thursday and Fridays at 6:30pm. Reservations are required (252.491.5311). Cost is usually $15-20, depending on the wines served. The Nags Head store features a North Carolina Wine Fest on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-8, where 15 wines can be tasted. Cost is $15. No reservations are required.

Native Vine also produces a Spring (May 3rd, 2009)and Fall Wine Festival (October 3 & 4, 2009).
