The last of the Tri-Village towns, Salvo is the third town you'll find after driving through Rodanthe and Waves and was originally part of Chicamacomico. Predominantly residential and a lot more isolated than the rest of the Outer Banks, Salvo is a fantastic place to come if you're looking for the chance to experience truly "living" on the Outer Banks. There are plenty of small mom-and-pop shops and restaurants to keep you satisfied on Hatteras Island during your stay, but you're also just a short drive from many of the Outer Banks' greatest attractions including Jockey's Ridge in Nags Head and several lighthouses. The true treasure of Salvo, however, is the quick and easy access to watersports, fishing, and plenty of undeveloped open beaches. Come experience a relaxing Outer Banks vacation and pick up a new hobby. Cast a line in the waters, uniquely situated for ideal fishing conditions, learn to stand-up paddleboard, and try your hand at kiteboarding for memories that are sure to last a lifetime.
