The ocean is the primary attraction to any beach location, especially on the Outer Banks where we enjoy miles and miles of underdeveloped, beautiful coastline. However, North Carolina is prone to rough surf and rip currents every now and then prompting yellow and red caution flags to be flown all over the beach… in other words, no swimming! Luckily, for visitors who still want to enjoy the water on a nice day even when the surf is too rough, there’s another option. H2OBX Waterpark is a water park in Powell’s Point that offers a day of fun for both kids and adults.

What Adventures Await at H2OBX?
There are dozens of rides, slides, and awesome attractions right in the park for kids of all ages. For something a little more thrilling, try the Dune Runner (a 70-ft. tall tube ride with drops), Paradise Plunge (a 9-story free-fall slide), Flow Rider (a surf simulation) or the Storm Chaser (another tube ride where you are tossed around like a ship during a storm)!
Looking for a family adventure? Try the Cat-5 Wave Pool (a huge wave pool), Teach’s Tides Adventure River (a 1,000-ft lazy river with a gentle current), or the Rogue Wave (a six-story tall raft ride)!
There are even rides designed specifically for kids! Visit the Osprey Landing (a kid-friendly water slide where multiple riders can slide down at once), Sand Pail Beach (kid friendly tube slides), or the Pelican Plunge (a kid-friendly plunge slide)!
If you get hungry while you’re there, don’t worry! There are plenty of choices when it comes to dining options at H2OBX. Outer Banks Eats is one of the main restaurants serving up great theme park food including salads, pizza, burgers, chicken tenders, crab cabs, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. For more drinks (and adult beverages), stop by Flyboys Bar for beer and wine. For a taste more locally inspired, visit Heavenly Hawgs BBQ (it is NC after all!) to order all varieties of Carolina-style BBQ pulled pork! If you still have room for dessert after all that awesome food, a visit to Dune Devil Desserts is sure to delight by offering everything from funnel cakes to soft serve ice cream!

Seaside Vacations Day In The Park
A couple weeks ago, we held an official Seaside Vacation Day at H2OBX! We had given away a 4-pack of tickets to the waterpark to 16 lucky families who were staying with us that week in order to introduce people to the fun possibilities at H2Obx. Members from our staff ran a booth right at the park entrance in which we gave away Seaside merchandise and Gift Vouchers for upcoming fall, winter, and spring vacations!
Best of all, we were holding a contest where anyone (even if they weren’t a Seaside guest!) could win a FREE OBX VACATION! Our marketing director even promoted the contest on a live on-air radio broadcast with Jody from Beach 104!
