Corolla
Event: Independence Day Celebration
Date: July 4th, 2024
Time: 5 PM - 9 PM (after fireworks end)
Location: Historic Corolla Park
Details: Come on out to Corolla Park to enjoy an evening filled with fun! Starting at 5 PM, the watermelon eating contest sign-ups will open up, and Mark Lippard will be entertaining the crowd with his amazing act! The Black and Blue Experience will start at 5:30 PM as part of the entertainment lineup, and then the watermelon eating contest begins at 6 PM. Fireworks will begin shortly after the sun goes down.
Parking: Free onsite parking for this event will begin at 3:00pm at Historic Corolla Park and will be available on a first come, first served basis. With record crowds this summer on the Currituck Outer Banks and with many visitors expected to attend, please note that our dedicated onsite parking spaces are expected to fill up early. Please plan accordingly.

Duck
Event: Town of Duck 4th of July Parade - AND MORE!

Time: 9 AM til whenever the celebrating stops!

Details: Listed in the top 10 best small-town Independence Day celebrations, this town excels in making this holiday one to remember! The party starts with a town parade, and once that is over, head to the town park for live music, refreshments, and the parade award celemony! It's a great way to spend the holiday!
Kill Devil Hills
Event: The Independence 1 Mile Beer Run
Date: June 30, 2024
Time: 11 AM

Cost: $40 for registration
Details: The Independece 1 Mile Beer Run is put on by the Outer Banks Brewing Station, and celebrates the birth of our country with a tasty twist! It will be a backyard party with the race chip-timed. T-shirts are included! There will be prizes for the fastest overall male and female. Come decked out in your american apparel as there will be a custume judging portion of the event! Beverages are 10 oz. and runs are ¼ mile.
Note: Must be 21 years old to participate.
Schedule: Late registration and Check-in from 10 - 11 AM in restaurant backyard. Bar will open at 10 AM if you want to "pre-game." Event starts at 11 AM.

Event: The Town of Kill Devil Hills Fireworks Show

Details: Enjoy a beautiful display of fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean to wrap up a great day celebrating Independence Day! Nags Head goes all out to put on a beautiful show for its guests! Take your family to the beach and set up a spot or head over to Jockey's Ridge to see the fireworks, too! The park will be open late on July 4th to allow visitors to access it for the night sky illuminations!
Note: Viewers are not to be on the dunes and must respect private property that is close to the beach.

Guests are encouraged to park west of U.S. Highway 158/ South Croatan Highway. Those choosing to park here should be cautious while attempting to cross this heavily traveled roadway.

Event: Independence Day 1850 at Island Farm

Time: 10 AM to 4 PM
Location: Island Farms 1140 N US Highway 64 Manteo, NC United States
Details: Enjoy this blast from the past and learn what life was like living in the 1850s at Island Farm! Pack a picnic and bring the family! Island Farm allows guests to take a step into what life would have looked like 150 years ago by having costumed actors explaining the history. Not only are the interpretors in full character, but live animals add to the overall experience! Ring in the holiday with musket-firing and the reading of the Declaration of Independence. Guests are able to also enjoy fun American games, as well!
Event: Town of Manteo 4th of July Celebration
Date: July 4th, 2024
Time: 9:30 PM
Location: Budleigh Street, Manteo, NC 27954
Cost: FREE
Details: Enjoy this sight along the downtown docks and check out the firework display that will be seen over the Roanoke Sound and Shollowbag Bay. If you're in the area earlier that day, enjoy life music from The Crowd and Echoes of Heritage in the afternoon and 208th Army Band in the evening before the fireworks. If weather is bad, the rain date is July 5th.
