About ZoomAround Golf Cart Rentals
ZoomAround is a premier golf cart rental service. Their carts are street legal, registered, and insured as well as equipped with headlights, taillights, windshields, side mirrors, and seat belts. They offer 4 passenger and 6 passenger Executive Electric Street Legal carts and 6 passenger Standard carts.
For our Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Corolla customers, delivery and pickup is required due to the speed limit going above 35mph. The delivery/pickup fee is $50.
For Duck and Southern Shores, customers are encouraged to pick up and return the carts in store, but ZoomAround does offer delivery and pickup for a $75 convenience fee.

Pickup and Delivery Options
Do you charge a pickup and delivery fee?
Delivery and Pickup is required for Corolla, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head reservations. The delivery/pickup fee is $50.
In Duck and Southern Shores, you may pick up and return your cart for free! ZoomAround will charge a $75 convenience fee on all deliveries and pick-ups in Duck and Southern Shores.
Can I come pick up a cart at your office location?
Yes, you can, for reservations in Duck and Southern Shores! We are located at 1171 Duck Rd, Ste. B-3, Duck, NC 27949.
Do I need to be present at the property at the time of delivery and/or pickup?
No, you are not required to be present for the delivery or pick up of the cart, but we do require your rental agreement to be signed before delivery. Once signed, we will deliver the cart to the designated address with the key.
Do you deliver to resorts, hotels and/or rental houses?
Yes. ZoomAround will deliver to the resort, hotel, or rental house in which you are staying. We advise consulting with your rental's property owner to confirm that they’re able to accommodate charging required for our electric carts.
What areas does Zoom Around Service?
ZoomAround of NC is currently serving the area of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Southern Shores, Duck, and Corolla, NC.
Can I get a refund on the delivery/pickup fee if I decide to pick up or return the cart myself?
Once the delivery/pickup fee is paid, it is non-refundable.
Important Information
What makes a cart street legal or a Low Speed Vehicle(LSV)?
A street-legal cart (LSV) must have all of the following specifications:
1. A minimum speed of 20 mph and a maximum of 25 mph
2. NC registration
3. Insurance coverage
4. Features turn signals, headlights, taillights, horn, seat belts, DOT windshield, reflectors, side mirrors, and slow-moving vehicle sign.
Are all your golf carts electric?
Yes, the state of North Carolina requires all street legal golf carts (Low Speed Vehicles) to be battery powered.
What is the advantage of a lithium battery?
A lithium battery holds a charge longer and is able to charge quicker than standard lead-acid batteries.
How fast do your carts go?
ZoomAround's carts are street legal and are legally bound to a speed between 20-25 mph. Our carts typically range between 24-25 mph.
How many miles can your electric cart go on one charge?
One charge on our 6-Passenger Executive and Standard models will go between 22-28 miles on a FULL charge. On our 4-passenger Executive models, one charge will go between 30-35 miles on a FULL charge.
How long does it take to charge an electric cart?
Charging takes approximately 6 hours when the battery is completely dead.
*We recommend charging whenever possible. Overnight charging is advised.
How do I charge my street legal LSV golf cart?
Executive Electric Carts: The charger is mounted under the front seat of 4-passenger and the middle seat on 6-passengers. An extension cord is connected to the charger, which can be plugged into any standard outlet.
Standard Electric Carts: The charger is mounted under the seat and connected to an extension cord, which can be found under the third-row seat and plugged into any standard outlet.
Do I have to return my electric cart with a full charge?
Yes, you are responsible for returning the cart with a full charge. Carts returned without a full charge are subject to a fee.
Rental Policies & Questions
Can I purchase rental insurance?
When renting a cart, insurance coverage is already included within the price of the rental. We also offer a PPW (Personal Protection Waiver) for an additional fee of $12.95 per day that covers the Renter from accidental damages up to $2,500 during the rental period.
How do I secure my reservation for a rental?
ZoomAround requires a minimum payment of 30% of the total to reserve a cart.
How old do I have to be to rent and/or drive a cart?
The minimum age to both rent and drive a cart is 21 years old.
Where can I drive the cart?
ZoomAround's carts are street legal and can be driven on any road that is 35 mph or less.
Where can I park the cart?
Our carts are street legal and must be parked in a legal parking spot just as any other vehicle would be, unless marked as a designated area for golf cart parking.
Can I drive my cart on the beach?
No. It is illegal to drive the carts on the beach, bike paths, sidewalks, off-road and any 4x4 areas.
Do I have to wear a seat belt?
We recommend all passengers always wear their seatbelts. All passengers in the front row are required to wear seat belts by state law, in addition to those in the back row under the age of 16.
Can I put 7 people on a 6-passenger and/or 5 people on a 4-passenger?
No. It is required by law that each person must have their own seat and seat belt.
Do you recommend using car seats?
Due to legal liabilities, we cannot make any recommendations on car seats. Since our vehicles are street legal, we recommend following the same safety protocols as you do in cars. Please be advised that most car seats are made for a 3-point harness; our carts have 2-point harnesses.
What should I look out for when renting a cart?
Make sure it is a North Carolina registered LSV (not just a golf cart). LSV's or Low Speed Vehicles are fully registered, insured, and inspected by the DMV and are street legal vehicles that meet state regulations and requirements.
Can I rent a cart for a couple of hours?
No, our minimum rental time is 24 hours.
What to do if I want to extend my rental?
Please call no less than 24 hours in advance to inquire about rental extensions. Rental extensions are not guaranteed. All late rentals will be subject to fee and/or additional day fee based off current rental rate.
Can I rent for a few hours after my return time?
Yes. However, you will be charged for an entire additional day.
Do you offer monthly/long-term rentals?
There is no maximum on rentals in-season.
What do I do if I acquire a ticket in my LSV while under my rental agreement?
All tickets must be reported immediately. All parking tickets must be reported within 24 hours.
Do we allow pets in/on our golf carts?
As much as we love our four-legged friends, we do not allow pets in or on our LSV's.
