Join the Town of Duck for the annual Duck Jazz Festival! Held at the beautiful Duck Town Park that borders the Currituck Sound, this exciting festival takes place over Columbus Day weekend each year and is free to the public. Come out for a day of celebrating jazz music as national, regional and local musicians perform on two stages, rain or shine. Local restaurants will be on site serving food and soft drinks. No tickets are required to this casual event and visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets (chair rentals will be available on site). Also, unlike many music festivals, you are allowed to bring in your own snacks making this a completely affordable family-friendly event! However, if you don't want to bring your own snacks, there will be several great vendors on site offering selections like shimp tacos, hot dogs, frozen yogurt, pizza and hot brewed coffee, just to name a few!
The Duck Jazz Festival is such a huge deal that the celebration is not just exclusive to festival grounds! That’s right… local businesses and restaurants in Duck will also be hosting pre and post-festival jazz-themed events and promotions all weekend long! At The Blue Point after the concert on October 12, artists from the festival will be performing with house band Joe Mapp & The Coordinates. On Sunday the 13th, Coastal Cravings Tap Shack (a short walk from Duck Town Park) will have live music from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM by CHEZ SAYS so the music can continue all evening!
Although 2019’s lineup of musicians, vendors and town events is officially ironed out, it isn't too late to book your October rental in Duck so you can partake in all the fun! Not convinced? Here is a recap from the 2018 festival from the Town of Duck:
